Tom joined Downing in 2011 and is Head of Institutional Business Development. He has 18 years’ experience in Financial Services, working in roles across investment, restructuring, product development, marketing and sales.
Tom is responsible for the development of new institutional products across our private market strategies. He has a particular focus on the charity sector, where we are utilising our extensive experience in renewable energy to enable charities to support the journey to net zero.
In previous roles at Downing, Tom has been an Investment Director in our Development Capital team, where he originated, transacted and managed investments across a number of our core sectors, including childcare, data centres, leisure, healthcare, property development and technology. He has also been Head of Product, leading our product team on the development and management of new and existing retail investment products, as well as Head of Marketing (as maternity cover) and Head of Private Office.
Prior to joining Downing, Tom spent five years at Lloyds Banking Group. While at Lloyds, Tom worked in retail banking and corporate credit roles, before spending two years as an Associate Director in the bank's restructuring department, transacting debt for equity swaps on distressed businesses during the credit crunch. Tom has completed the Investment Management Certificate and has a law degree from Cardiff University.
