Investment manager Downing is expanding its Energy and Infrastructure investment team with key appointments as it targets further growth as a pan European renewable energy investor and fund manager.
The key appointments increase the size of the investment team to 18 and the broader energy & infrastructure business to c.85 professionals. The team is well-positioned to deliver the significant pipeline of compelling opportunities created, adding value for our investors.
Ingrid Edmund has joined as Senior Investment Director from Columbia Threadneedle Investments and brings more than 20 years’ experience of acquiring, financing and managing infrastructure investments across EMEA in sectors including energy transition, digital, transport and social.
She previously held senior roles with HSBC Global Asset Management, Hastings Funds Management and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.
Yusra Siddique has joined the team as an Associate Director. Yusra joins from Corio Generation, a portfolio company of Macquarie Asset Management, where she was Vice President in the Origination and Capital Finance team focusing on offshore wind. Prior to that, she focused on a mix of renewable energy projects at Green Investment Group (a part of Macquarie Capital).
Tomas Schwarzenberg has joined as an Investment Executive having previously worked as an Associate at Lazard in London and Chile, focusing on renewables and the energy transition.
Downing has also strengthened its expertise in the Nordics with the appointment of Totti Saikkonen as an Investment Executive and Mate Toth as an Investment Analyst. Totti previously worked for SEB in Finland and Norway as an investment banking analyst while Mate joins from Baringa Partners where he was a Nordic energy advisor.
