Aquilo Power LLP
In 2014, Downing funds invested into Aquilo Power LLP, the owner of an operational 500kW EWT Direct Drive wind turbine, with funding used to build a second turbine nearby. An additional investment saw completion of a third turbine, with a fourth later acquired which had been commissioned in 2012. In 2018 Downing funds purchased the investing partner's remaining share.
EWT is the turbine supplier and provides O&M services to the portfolio under a 10-year agreement. They are a Dutch company and one of the leading wind turbine manufacturers in the 500kW category. Asset management is performed in-house by Downing.
